Local Musician Posters

The series of local artist posters was made in my BFA Studio class. I wanted to do this project because of my interest in the local music scene and desire to learn printmaking. 

The goal of this project was to not just make band posters that I was interested in making, but also include aspects of each band that made them feel personal to the music. I did this by conducting interviews with each of the artists and listening to their music. Each poster is made completely unique to the artist and their sound.

This exploration in prinkmaking was the first time I used the laser engraver to make a woodcut block, printing on a letterpress. When I was finished with all of the posters, I distributed them to all of the artists who were kind enough to believe in this project.
