Hello!
Ellie Woytek is a graphic designer from Lemont, IL, receiving her education from Indiana University as a Bachelor of Fine Arts Graphic Design candidate. She grew up expressing herself through dance, music, and eventually found herself absorbed with the art world. In high school she began experimenting with photography which led to her fascination with graphic design.
Music is one of the heaviest inspirations that drives Ellie to create art. She is constantly inspired by the music she listens to and how it affects her perception of everyday life. Her history with music has helped her understand how musicians express themselves in similar ways that artists do. Her personal experience helps her consider the many different interpretations and tones that music provides which she expresses through her art with many colors, patterns, textures, and different mediums. Ellie most often likes to use digital design, photography, videography, and printmaking in her process. She feels her art is most authentic when she utilizes a blend of these practices and combines static and kinetic visuals.
The importance of her work is through its power to keep her in touch with the media world she comes in contact with. Ellie feels that it is easy to get lost in the digital world of art, music, and social media and being able to create allows these feelings to become tangible. She believes that music can create the same effect and hopes her art expresses the connection she feels with music and helps others bridge the gap between visual and audible art.
