This type specimen was the first assignment in the letterpress class. It was my first time using metal type and a huge challenge. The assignment was to pick a type case in our shop, organize all of the type in the case, and display all of the upper and lower case letters in the case. I chose the case 48pt Garamond Italic.

I got the inspiration for this design from Star Shape Press, a type shop that specializes using ornaments to construct visual designs.
